Meet Randy Swindle
Tired of seeing his city and neighborhoods fall victim to rising crime along with the mismanagement of the criminal justice center, Randy Swindle has stepped up to run for Marion County Sheriff.
Randy has an extensive background in law enforcement that includes two decades at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Swindle retired from the sheriff’s office in 2018 after rising to the rank of sergeant and continues his law enforcement career with IMPD.
Over the course of his years in public service, Randy has been both an innovator and leader. He helped implemented the first National Night Out, an event centered on building police-community partnerships, in Indianapolis. This program has since spread across the county with police and civilian participation. He was also pivotal in helping implement and training the first bicycle patrol unit in the sheriff’s office, leaving in place the standard for training still used today.
Randy was born and raised on the southside of Indianapolis where he resides today. Together with his wife, he has four children and six grandkids.
